No More Dreams (6)

Kennedy POV:

I started to read the note, but suddenly somebody called me. It was Charli.

Charli: “Kennedyyyyy. What are you doing still inside the class? You are not falling in love with the class right?” I quickly slipped the note inside my bag.
Kennedy: “Um no of course. Let’s go outside.”
I walked with Charli to the cafeteria.
Charli: “How is it going?”
Kennedy: “What is going?”
Charli: “You and Ray.”
Kennedy: “Oh. Uh well what do you expect?”
Charli: “You two make a cute couple you know.”
Kennedy: “What the......NO WAY.”
Charli: “I can see. You blushed a little. Don’t lie to me because you can’t.”
Kennedy: “Well uh yeah um....”
Charli: “I’m looking forward to that.”
Kennedy: “Well what am I going to do? I’m moving to New York like forever.”
Charli: “Yeah but love can save you.”
Kennedy: “Here we go with all this love stories...”
Charli: “I’m am not telling you Romeo and Juliet for like 327th time.”
Kennedy: “Wow. Good. You counted it.”
Charli: “But you have to understand. Why don’t you believe in love?”
Kennedy: “I believe.”
Charli: “Oh really?” She said as we sat down at our seats.
Kennedy: “Of course. Of there is no love, why is there love songs.”
Charli: “I think marriage is the term that you’re looking for.”
Kennedy: “Marriage is later. Don’t talk about it. Love later. Business is the one that is important.”
Charli: “You know, you sound like a 20 year old man that is searching for jobs.”
Kennedy: “Thanks¬_¬.”

I ate the lunch and well that’s break time. Then I got to class again and then the bell rang, and I went home.

-FRIDAY-

I came to school, grumpy faced. I don’t want to go to New York. I love it here in LA. I was too early here at school. So I picked up a school guitar, brought it to the bleachers, and started to play a song.

“The stars lean down to kiss you,
And I lie awake and miss you,
Pour me a heavy dose of atmosphere.

'Cause I'll doze off safe and soundly,
But I'll miss your arms around me,
I'd send a postcard to you, dear,
'Cause I wish you were here.

I'll watch the night turn light-blue,
But it's not the same without you,
Because it takes two to whisper quietly.

The silence isn't so bad,
'Til I look at my hands and feel sad,
'Cause the spaces between my fingers,
Are right where yours fit perfectly.

I'll find repose in new ways,
Though I haven't slept in two days,
'Cause cold nostalgia,
Chills me to the bone.

But drenched in vanilla twilight,
I'll sit on the front porch all night.
Waist-deep in thought because,
When I think of you I don't feel so alone.”

Ray POV:

I came to school too early today. I carried my guitar and walked to the back of the bleachers when I hear somebody sing Owl City’s Vanilla Twilight beautifully. I was touched. I peeked a little bit. It was Kennedy. I didn’t know she can sing. It was beautiful. I don’t understand why she sang that. But I just realized she’s a little bit down these few days.

-AFTER SCHOOL-

Kennedy POV:
Last day of school. I’m gonna miss LA. I’m gonna miss my life here. I stepped outside the school gates when somebody stopped me. It was Ray.

Ray: “Kenn....”
Kennedy: “What?”

Ray POV:

Kennedy: “What?”
I love you.
Ray: “I...uh..” I snapped about what I was thinking to say.
Kennedy: “Please I...well...um...rough day heheh.” She walked down the street.
Ray: “You seem to look down for a few day. What’s wrong?” I decided to follow her back home.
Kennedy: “Nothing Ray.”
Ray: “I’m serious Kenn. Tell me what’s wrong. It’s written on your face.” I held her hand.
Kennedy: “How many times should I tell you it’s nothing!” She yelled and sat down at a bench.
Ray: “I’m sorry Kenn. I have driven you to this.”
Kennedy: “It’s okay Ray.” She started to cry a little.
Ray: “Kennedy I’m sorry. Please don’t cry.” I sat down next to her.
Kennedy: “How can I not cry. I’m going to New York tomorrow.”
Ray: “What?! Why didn’t you tell me?”
Kennedy: “I thought you would be so angry.”
Ray: “I wouldn’t be if you told me the truth.”
Kennedy: “I’m sorry Ray.”
Ray: “Nah it’s fine.” She looked at me.
Kennedy: “Thanks Ray.”
Ray: “Sure no problem.”

The lights dimmed. Night falls. We’re still here and don’t know what we are doing. We just sat and looked down the street like a weird person. Suddenly she spoke.

Kennedy: “Can I borrow your guitar?”
Ray: “Sure.” I handed her my guitar and she started to sing.

“The way you move is like a full on rainstorm
And I'm a house of cards.
You’re the kind of reckless that should send me running,
But I kinda know that I won’t get far.

And you stood there in front of me,
Just close enough to touch.
Close enough to hope you couldn't see,
What I was thinking of.

Drop everything now.
Meet me in the pouring rain.
Kiss me on the sidewalk,
Take away the pain.
Cause' I see sparks fly whenever you smile.

Get me with those green eyes, baby
As the lights go down.
Give me something that'll haunt me when you're not around.
Cause I see, sparks fly whenever you smile.”

She sang beautifully. Always like that. I took back my guitar from her. And I kiss her. I’ve been waiting this so long. Same as the girl in that song. I don’t know if it was me or not but I don’t care.

Kennedy POV:

Ray took back his guitar from me and he leaned a little to me. And his lips touched with mine. I’ve been waiting this for so long. He played with me before. Something always interfere us. But now we had it.

I stopped it. I looked down and walked away. I don’t know what’s driving me to do that, but I went away. He looked happy back there but a little sad too because I left. I’m sorry Ray. Maybe that’s the last thing that you ever do to me. I don’t know what is going in New York. I’m going to miss all the things here in LA. I’m gonna miss Ray.

------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm sorry it's short. Really short. But love is going to be around^^
